The news is…

that there is no further news.  Other than I have finally and really quite accidentally made some loot.  More on that later.

Currently I have significant upheaval at home with major refurbishments.  My compensation for participation in the rat race, rather unfortunately, does not provide the loot necessary to excuse me from participation in this activity, so my spare time is consumed by it.  I want to give the mentor course the attention it deserves, it is turning out to require more than I originally expected; so to achieve this I’m going to have to drop it for a while.

Fear not! The endeavour is not doomed!  I will be picking it up again in just a few weeks and will keep you posted on my progress.   But, whilst I am mixing concrete, drilling, sawing and all that other stuff I’m not particularly good at and generally making a mess (which seemingly I am good at), it is certain that my mind will continue to wander  regarding the rat race exit. I promise to come here and share my thoughts and I really do hope you will continue to join me.  You can even join in with comments or the sign-up box.

In the meantime, I have made some money – from the Amazon search box to be precise.  No one has bought any trunks yet I’m disappointed to note, much as I have tried to promote their revival (I’ve given up you’ll see from my photo) but some of you have actually done some shopping through the box.  Which is very much a good thing and I encourage it to continue. 

It is probable, and really quite tragic, that the next boxes to appear on the blog will probably be B&Q, Wickes and Homebase (UK  Home Depot equivalents for stateside readers)  as I sign up as an affiliate merely to rebate my own expenditure on these blasted refurbishments….  But if something inspires you to shop through this blog… Please do!

It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds, if he was indeed an internet marketer it will be particularly interesting to learn if he actually made any money.  The initial story certainly suggests he did.  Of course I will still be conducting my own research and keeping you informed dear reader but it will be interesting nonetheless.

Second Interim report!

Well I'm still floundering around finishing off lesson 2 but at last, I have some progress to report.

My recruitment exercise is paying off,  I posted my book in a forum asked for some feedback and actually got some inspiring responses.  All in all great stuff!

I suppose I should write a bit more feedback about the course.  Well it is going okay.  It is much more time consuming than I anticipated.   Also it is not that "dippable".  You have to make time when you can sit down uninterrupted for a couple of hours to concentrate on the activities set.

An Interim Report

Just thought I’d chime in with my first disappointment with this course.  Basically a key theme is to build a list. Methods with which others have enjoyed success are laid out.

Well I thought I go ahead and use one of the methods.  It took some time and effort but I posted over on a forum where I thought I’d get a good audience.

So what I want people to do is sign up to receive communications from me.  To encourage this action in return you will receive a free book containing some select knowledge.

Chose my forum carefully, thought I was in the right place.  I got 156 views and not a single taker yet.

I think it is likely my implementation is not great.  First attempt and all that sort of stuff though it demonstrate s that a certain amount of ability to connect with people is necessary, which is possibly where I'm lacking.

C’est la vie.  I’ll try to refine and move on to the next method and see how I get on.  I will try to report again this weekend.

Hello blog followers!

There are some of you I know, a whopping 300 folk have come here to read my little story, so I am sorry I have been a poor correspondent for the last week.  And unfortunately, even after this interval, I don’t have much to report.  I have not yet achieved financial freedom so I dance to my bosses tune and this has not left me a great deal of time of late.  In all honesty I’m still floundering around with some of the tasks from lesson 2 and low and behold lesson 4 arrives in my inbox yesterday as a timely reminder that I am not getting things done as quickly as I should.

On the plus there is no one to tell me off.  Perhaps you, my audience have been on edge waiting for the next episode saying to yourselves “when oh when will we find out about lesson 3??”  If that’s the case sign up to my little email thing over there on the right and I’ll let you know when I’ve made some progress.

I will by the end of this week report on the completion of lesson 2 AND lesson 3.  So folks tune in at the weekend: same Bat time same Bat channel.

Lesson 2

Hmm… It’s been a tough week this week.  The rat race has been racier than usual. Unfortunately that is not the kind of raciness that means wearing little more or much less than your speedos!  It just means busy.

So I have fallen a little behind schedule, not critical I don’t think at this stage but I had about eleven tasks to do and I've only done 8 of them.  I will catch up tonight and tomorrow to put me back on track for the arrival on Monday’s lesson 3.

“But!!” I hear you cry “We are not interested in how busy you are.  Are you making money yet?”

Well, good question. The answer is “No, I’m not."  But I am learning lots of new things about how to connect with people through the internet which I had no idea about before and I cannot help but think will be useful come what may.  Additionally, the program hasn’t yet forecast that I should have an income.  At this stage I should have a few email addresses of people that want to hear from me and about my products – this is where I have fallen behind.

However, here are some statistics for the end of week two which I hope you’ll find interesting:

This Bank holiday weekend has provided a slightly shorter break than most with Lesson 2 arriving in my inbox at lunchtime whilst travelling home from a terrific weekend in beautiful Scotland.

I've read through the PDF and there are several topics and tasks introduced.  Although I'm not going to list them they build on the activities from last week, there is quite a lot to get through.  In summary I need to start promoting myself and my products with another website.

It looks like it's going to be a fair bit of work this week and I'll report how I get on, it seems to help me order my thoughts on what's been covered too.

But the read though is all I've time for this evening, I need to iron my 'uniform' to report at my office cubicle in the morning...........With the fantastic weekend fading this rat is returning to the race.  Who knows it might only be temporary.
