This Bank holiday weekend has provided a slightly shorter break than most with Lesson 2 arriving in my inbox at lunchtime whilst travelling home from a terrific weekend in beautiful Scotland.

I've read through the PDF and there are several topics and tasks introduced.  Although I'm not going to list them they build on the activities from last week, there is quite a lot to get through.  In summary I need to start promoting myself and my products with another website.

It looks like it's going to be a fair bit of work this week and I'll report how I get on, it seems to help me order my thoughts on what's been covered too.

But the read though is all I've time for this evening, I need to iron my 'uniform' to report at my office cubicle in the morning...........With the fantastic weekend fading this rat is returning to the race.  Who knows it might only be temporary.

Email Gadget

I've figured out the email gadget, it's taken me a while so a short post tonight.

It's posted over there on the right, under the picture of me in my speedos!  Now here's the test - Will you give your email address to a man in speedos.....

Lists......Lists...Lists

Lists of customers are important, I need an email "autoresponder" service.  The course author appears to have nothing to gain by which one I choose, even though it is likely that I will be parting with more of my hard earned cash, but is quite definite that one is required.  A free option has been introduced to me, it looks a bit more complicated to use than the paid services I've quickly looked at.  Until an hour ago I didn't know this type of service existed so I'm thinking it needs to be simple.

Another apparent likely downside of a free service is that an email you send to a customer that has opted-in to receive your mails ends up in their junk email folder.  Thinking about emails I've been legitimately expecting from big companies that I've had to fish out of a junk email folder this could be quite an important point.  Not that I think these big name websites had been using a free service, but it would seem a reasonable assumption that options that reduce this possibility should be selected.

So this evening I'm going to have a look around a few websites, hopefully learn a little more about what has been introduced to me and maybe sign-up to a service tomorrow.

Check back tomorrow there might be a box somewhere on this blog for you to sign up to receive emails from me.  No idea what I'll say on them yet other than "Hey come and read my Blog".  That will probably come later.

Day One

Well actually it's kind of day 2.  Day 1 was yesterday where I had to learn how to publish a website.  I signed up for Blogger and started this blog.   I have stumbled through posting adverts on eBay before and using Blogger seems rather like that.  Fiddled around with it today, changed the colour, added a few gadgets, I think it looks better.  Does anyone else???

Reading through my lesson material, even if you have not got the experience of something like eBay it is very comprehensive, a full 21 page document with detailed instructions.   It takes you through a number of different options available, Blogger was just one of them.  It looked and has proved to be simple, how effective it is for this activity is yet to be discovered, the lesson content is pretty neutral.

I think, in time, I'm going to have to master some of the other methods discussed but for now Blogger will have to do.  It would be too easy to get sidetracked into learning all about publishing really good looking websites.

Overall the impression so far is positive.  The content seems to be well thought out and put together.  The first task this week has been achievable, there are more to tackle - I'll let you know how it goes.....  Visit tomorrow and hopefully this page will look a bit different.

What is this about?

I love working but want things my own way.  Like work at home.  Like start when I want.  Like finish when I want.

So what am I doing about it?  Well the answer to date is not a lot.  In fact nothing.  So I have bought an Internet Marketing course by Robert Evans.  It looks different to others courses, it looks like it could be genuine, take a look:

http://onlineincome247.co.uk/

Cost: £97

I'm sceptical but open minded and motivated enough to spend £97 to really find out once and for all if success as an Internet Marketeer can come as easily as the adverts for the courses say.

Stay with me, maybe leave an encouraging or useful comment just to let me know someone is reading.
